On September 16, the Chinese government, through its embassy in Timor-Leste, officially handed over two buses to the Timorese government at a ceremony that was held by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation in Dili. The vehicles were handed over by the Chinese Ambassador to Timor-Leste, Wang Wenli. 

The Minister Bendito Freitas pointed out that “these high-quality vehicles can be used for important events and for transporting honoured guests”.

The ambassador Wang Wenli recalled that the donation of these buses was agreed during an official visit of the Minister Bendito Freitas to China, which took place at the invitation of the Chinese Minister of Foreign Affairs, Wang Yi. The Ambassador expressed the wish that these luxury vehicles could be useful in diplomatic activities and state visits to Timor-Leste.
