Trade between China, Portuguese-speaking Countries tops US$72.166 bln in January-April 2024

Trade in merchandise between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries reached US$72.166 billion in the period from January to April 2024. It represented an 18.37 percent increase year-on-year, according to data from China Customs. Portuguese-speaking Countries sold goods worth US$46.335 billion to China in the first four months of 2024 – an increase of 22.92 percent year-on-year. The value of China’s merchandise exports to those countries reached US$25.831 billion in the same period, up 11.01 percent year-on-year.


The total value of merchandise traded in April between the parties topped US$17.949 billion, an increase of 16.40 percent from the prior-year period. The value of China’s merchandise imports from Portuguese-speaking Countries reached US$11.362 billion, up 22.65 percent year-to-year, according to Chinese official data. China sold goods to those countries worth US$6.587 billion in April, an increase of 6.99 percent compared with the previous year.
