Large-scale aluminum production starts next year

The groundbreaking ceremony for the Huatong Aluminum Industrial Park construction took place on June 22. The project is being built in the Barra do Dande Free Trade Zone, in Bengo. This is an initiative of the consortium Hebei Huatong Wire & Cables Group Co, Ltd and Huatong Angola Industry, Lda.


On the occasion, the Secretary of State for Industry, Carlos Rodrigues, said that the project produces ingots, alloys, poles, rods, plates, rolls and other products derived from aluminum.


Implementation will be done in five phases over ten years. The first phase is scheduled for completion in June 2025. This initial phase absorbs 250 million dollars and created 1,000 vacancies. The factory has a production capacity of 120 thousand tons/year of aluminum.
