The University of Coimbra (UC) and the Polytechnic University of Macau (UPM) launched a double doctorate in information technologies, according to the Rector of the Portuguese institution, during a visit to Macau.
The doctorate was born this academic year, from an agreement signed in August, and is starting to show its first results, with 18 students, divided between Portuguese and Chinese, said the Rector, Amílcar Falcão.
Falcão said that the UC will move forward in the next academic year of 2024/2025 with an advanced study program in International Economic Relations with the City University of Macau, in English.
The Rector stressed that the UC wants, in the future, to continue to have this capacity to mobilize students from both sides because the institution wants to increase the number of advanced training courses in cooperation with Macau. He revealed that UC also wants to strengthen its partnership with UPM in artificial intelligence.
