The rector of the State University of Rio Grande do Norte (UERN), Cicília Maia, received a delegation from China and technicians from the State Government on February 3 to begin discussions on the installation of the International Center for Technological Innovation and Mechanization of Family Farming in Mossoró.
The Chinese delegation arrived in RN on January 25th to establish Brazil-China partnerships, to mechanize Family Farming, and inaugurate a Testing Center in Apodi (RN) on February 2.
During the inauguration of the Testing Center, the leader of the MST, João Pedro Stedile, announced that the Chinese plan to install an agricultural machinery assembly plant in Mossoró to meet the demand for family farming in Brazil.
The idea is to create an International Center for Technological Innovation and Mechanization of Family Agriculture in partnership with UERN, with the support of the Government of the State of Rio Grande do Norte, non-governmental entities and private companies.
