Chinese company LongPing agreed to purchase 90% of the soybean seed processing unit from Goiás Cereal Ouro in Rio Verde (GO). The operation will mark the group's entry into a new segment in Brazil.
Despite not yet selling soybean seeds in Brazil, LongPing has invested in the genetic improvement of the grain to have a portfolio in 2026. Last year, the company opened research stations in Balsas (MA), Formosa and Rio Verde (GO) and should complete work for a center in Rolândia (PR) in 2024.
In the corn seed market, LongPing already occupies the third position in Brazil, behind Corteva and Bayer and ahead of Syngenta.
