Chinese National Intellectual Property Administration Commissioner Shen Changyu has visited Portugal with a view to increasing Sino-Portuguese cooperation in protecting intellectual property rights (IPRs), the administration says.

The administration issued a written statement saying Mr Shen had meetings with a Portuguese justice official, Anabela Pedroso, and Portuguese Institute of Industrial Property President Ana Margarida Bandeira.

The statement quotes Mr Shen as telling both that China is willing to cooperate more closely with Portugal in protecting IPRs.

He said an agreement on cooperation in protecting trademarks, patents and so on was possible.

Mr Shen’s hosts said Portugal attached great importance to cooperation with China in protecting IPRs, especially the IPRs of small and medium enterprises, the Chinese National Intellectual Property Administration says.
