The Chinese-made metal components of the deck of the suspension bridge that will span Maputo Bay in Mozambique have been loaded onto a ship in Shanghai, ready to be transported to Maputo, Radio Mozambique reports, citing a representative of the owner of the bridge as its source.
The radio station says the towers and cables of the suspension bridge are in place, awaiting the installation of the deck.
The bridge will link central Maputo to the Katembe district.
China Road and Bridge Corp. is building the US$725 million bridge, Radio Mozambique says.
