The cashew nut harvest in Mozambique this year was the biggest in the past 30 years, the Diário de Moçambique newspaper reports.
The director of the National Institute of Cashew Production, Ilídio Bande, says production has reached 137,400 tonnes, exceeding the forecast of 120,000 tonnes and last year’s volume of 104,000 tonnes.
Mr Bande said better rainfall in the country’s south had improved the harvest.
