China and Angola celebrate the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations in Beijing

On the 17th of February, a commemorative reception was held in Beijing on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Angola, organized by the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) and the Angolan Embassy in Beijing.

In his speech, CPAFFC Vice President Jiang Jiang said that over the past 40 years, relations between the two countries have maintained high levels of development and achieved fruitful results in pragmatic cooperation, bringing benefits to both peoples.

The Angolan ambassador, João Salvador dos Santos Neto pointed out that more and more Chinese companies participate in the effort for the economic development of Angola, for example, in the Cafu project, the project of the new international airport of Luanda and the hydroelectric project of Caculo Cabaça. The diplomat added that it will be a great opportunity for both countries to update and identify new areas of cooperation, with a view to expansion and diversification.
