Ten Angolan students have been granted scholarships by an Angolan-Chinese firm to receive tertiary education in China, Angolan news agency Angop reported.
The students, from Huambo province, will attend Guangdong University of Foreign Studies for five years – getting instruction in either medicine or engineering.
The scholarships were granted by An Cheng Investment, a company based in the African nation and led by Chinese and Angolan investors.
Gildo da Cruz, a company representative, said the initiative could help increase the number of qualified workers in the country, in particular in Huambo province, Angop reported. He was speaking at a farewell ceremony held on Wednesday for the 10 students.
