According to statistics from China’s General Administration of Customs (see attached table), trade between China and Portuguese-speaking countries totalled US$175.698 billion from January to August 2026, a year-on-year increase of 21.79%. China’s imports from Portuguese-speaking countries amounted to US$105.799 billion, up 22.15% year on year, while its exports to them totalled US$69.899 billion, an increase of 21.25%.

In August 2026, trade between China and Portuguese-speaking countries amounted to US$23.908 billion, a year-on-year increase of 8.84%. China’s imports from Portuguese-speaking countries totalled US$14.282 billion, up 0.64% year on year, while exports amounted to US$9.626 billion, an increase of 23.82%.
