Brazil was the fifth-largest global trading partner of the Port of Ningbo-Zhoushan of China in 2024, following only the United States, the European Union, ASEAN, and Australia, according to a statement released by Ningbo Customs.

According to data from Ningbo Customs, the Port of Ningbo-Zhoushan reported a total import and export value of 85.35 billion yuan with Brazil in 2024, representing an annual increase of 12.5%.

Among these figures, the growth in imports of iron ore from Brazil stood out. A representative from Ningbo Fuchundongfang Trading Co., Ltd. stated that the company’s imports of Brazilian iron ore increased up to six times in the first ten months of 2024. In addition to mineral products, a variety of new and modern products from Brazil also crossed long distances to reach Chinese consumers.

As for exports of Chinese products to Brazil, the performance was also remarkable. From January to October 2024, Risen Energy Co., Ltd., one of the global leaders in the photovoltaic sector, exported 410 million yuan worth of photovoltaic solar modules to Latin American countries, of which 96% were shipped to Brazil. Most of these products were transported via the Port of Ningbo-Zhoushan, according to a representative from Risen Energy.
