Newland Payment Technology, a Chinese company, has partnered with US-based Jabil to invest in Jabil’s plant in Betim, Minas Gerais, to create 500 new jobs by 2025.

The partnership includes the opening of a brand-new Newland production line at Jabil's Betim facility.

“The Minas Gerais government is always on the lookout for opportunities to provide development, employment and income for the people of Minas Gerais. This agreement will also contribute to sharing knowledge of advanced technologies from major economic powers with the state,” said Passalio, Secretary of State for Economic Development.

Jabil will be responsible for manufacturing payment terminals for Newland, which are widely used in points of sale, restaurants, gas stations and other commercial services.
