Cape Verde and China renew collaboration protocol to continue sending medical missions to the country

The Government of Cape Verde renewed on May 22 the cooperation protocol with China to continue to send Chinese medical missions to the archipelago.


According to the Ministry of Health, the signed protocol is valid for six years (2024-2029) and aims to deepen health cooperation between the two countries, through the sending of Chinese medical teams to reinforce medical responses in the country. The act was initialed by the Minister of Health, Filomena Gonçalves, and by the ambassador of the People's Republic of China in Cape Verde, Xu Jie, and took place in the meeting room of the Agostinho Neto University Hospital.


Xu Jie recalled that this year marks the 40th anniversary of sending Chinese medical teams to Cape Verde, highlighting that they have all performed their duties with a high sense of responsibility and mission, providing medical services to the people of Cape Verde and strengthening friendship between two peoples.


During the ceremony, China delivered medical equipment worth 43 thousand euros.
