In December 2023, the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) approved three new Chinese drone models for use in agricultural spraying in Brazil. Manufactured by the Chinese company DJI, one of the largest manufacturers of this type of drone in the world, the approved projects open doors for the launch of new models in the country and reinforce the cooperative aviation relations between Brazil and China.

All the models have been approved to operate at 120 metres above ground level and with a range of up to 1,000 metres for visual line-of-sight (VLOS) or extended visual line-of-sight (EVLOS) operations. The equipment will be commercialised by the manufacturer in the country.

The aviation partnership between the two countries has maintained cooperation activities since 2011, through a Memorandum of Understanding and a Technical Implementation Procedure, with the Chinese authority, Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), being an important cooperation partner with ANAC.
