When it starts operating in Pouso Alegre in mid-July 2024, according to estimates by the Chinese company Midea, it will have two production lines: one for refrigerators and the other for washing machines. Previously, it was planned that, initially, only refrigerators would be produced. The information comes from the municipal secretary of Economic Development, José Carlos Costa.

According to Costa, the Chinese company will announce on November 22nd the authorization for the new production line during a ceremony at the construction site where the company's factory is being built.

The ceremony will also mark the beginning of the actual construction phase of the unit, according to Costa. This is because, since April, when the foundation stone of the factory was laid, only the earthworks and foundation stages of the land measuring around 270 thousand square meters have taken place. However, Midea's estimate of starting work on site in the middle of next year is feasible and should be achieved.

The unit's revenue, according to him, should reach somewhere between R$700 million and R$1 billion within a five-year horizon of full operation.
