The Chinese government will give the Angolan government US$28 million to build and equip a technology training centre in the central Angolan province of Huambo, Angop reports.

The Angolan news agency says building work will begin next January and last two years.

The report quotes a member of the project team, Manuel Pimentel, as saying the training centre will be capable of accommodating 1,240 trainees each day.

Mr Pimentel said Angola already had two such training centres, both in capital Luanda.

A Sino-Angolan agreement signed in April provides for the Chinese contribution to the cost, Angop quotes Mr Pimentel as saying.
