The government of Angola expects the economy to grow by 4.9 percent next year, impelled by increases in the output of the energy industry and agriculture, Angop reports.

The Angolan news agency says the forecast is contained in the budget for next year proposed by the government.

The budget document forecasts that the energy industry will account for 60.6 percent of the growth next year, and agriculture for 5.9 percent.

It forecasts that the oil industry will grow by 6.1 percent, construction by 3.1 percent, and diamond and metal mining by 4.4 percent.

The annual rate of economic growth this year is expected to be 1.1 percent. It was 0.1 percent last year, Angop says.
