The Xinhua news agency will resume ties with Angop, the Angolan news agency. The political adviser at the Chinese Embassy in Luanda, Li Chong, made the announcement on Wednesday after visiting Angop’s headquarters.
Mr Li was quoted as saying Xinhua could resume co-operation in the training of staff, and in sharing information and photographs.
“The Chinese side will make greater efforts to strengthen this co-operation,” Mr Li told Xinhua.
A senior representative in charge of Africa affairs for Xinhua is scheduled to visit Angola next month, and the Chinese Embassy would foster ties between the agencies during their visit.
Xinhua and Angop have a long-term relationship but ties were suspended due to technical issues, Mr Li was quoted as saying.
