Trade in merchandise between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries reached US$38.3 billion in the period from January to May 2015. It represented a 28.18 percent decline year-on-year, according to data from China Customs.
China sold goods to Portuguese-speaking Countries worth US$16.5 billion in the first five months of 2015, a drop of 2.84 percent year-on-year. The value of China’s merchandise imports from those countries reached US$21.8 billion in the same period, down 40.03 percent year-on-year, according to Chinese official data.
The total value of merchandise traded in May between the parties topped US$8.6 billion, up 8.70 percent from the previous month.
China sold goods to Portuguese-speaking Countries worth US$3.1 billion in May, an increase of 10.98 percent compared with April. The value of China’s merchandise imports from those countries reached US$5.5 billion, up by 7.52 percent, according to Chinese official data.
