São Tomé and Príncipe’s new Ambassador to Beijing visits Forum Macao

The new Ambassador to Beijing of São Tomé and Príncipe, Ms Isabel Maya Jesus da Graça Domingos, accompanied by the country’s Representative in Forum Macao, Mr Gualter Cruz, visited on October 19 the headquarters of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao. She held a meeting with Secretary-General Ms Xu Yingzhen, and Deputy Secretary-General Mr Ding Tian.


Ms Xu welcomed Ambassador Graça Domingos, and congratulated her on the appointment as Ambassador to Beijing of São Tomé and Príncipe. During the meeting, Ms Xu provided a brief introduction about the work of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao, i.e. namely the promotion of cooperation in trade and investment, education and culture. She also briefed Ms Graça Domingos about the activities scheduled to mark the 15th anniversary of the establishment of Forum Macao.


Ms Graça Domingos said that the Government of São Tomé and Príncipe attached great importance to Forum Macao’s work and to Macao’s role as a cooperation platform. São Tomé and Príncipe aimed to strengthen ties with – and further support the work of – Forum Macao. She highlighted São Tomé and Príncipe’s rich resources in fishery, agriculture, food processing and tourism, inviting Chinese firms to invest in these sectors. Ms Graça Domingos added that her country planned to continue deepening cooperation with the Participating Countries in Forum Macao by making use of Forum Macao, and Macao’s platform role.
