Ji welcomed the delegation and briefly introduced the development progress of China’s economy and foreign trade, the goals and tasks of Forum Macao, the priorities of the Secretariat and the series of activities for celebrating the 20th anniversary of Forum Macao. He noted that over the past 20 years, the Secretariat has made remarkable achievements in areas such as trade and investment, industrial promotion, people-to-people exchanges, development and co-operation, fully demonstrating Macao as a co-operation and exchange platform between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries. Then, he encouraged students to strive for excellence, make progress, widen their horizons and participate in more activities held by Forum Macao so that they can learn more about the functions of the China-PSCs platform in Macao and actively engage in the cause of economic and trade co-operation between China and PSCs and in turn contribute to their mutual development.

This is the third consecutive year that the City University of Macau has organized for postgraduate students to have exchanges with the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao. During the meeting, Paulo Jorge Rodrigues do Espírito Santo introduced the development of Forum Macao and the people-to-people exchanges under its framework. The delegation also visited the Retrospective of the Establishment of Forum Macao-20th Anniversary. Students said that they gained a deeper understanding of Forum Macao and Macao’s platform from the visit, and they further acknowledged Macao’s construction of “One Center, One Platform and One Base” and its integration into the national development, which would facilitate their future career planning.

Deputy Secretary-General of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao, Xie Ying, and Coordinator of the Executive Office, Li Xiaohui, also attended the exchange meeting.
