On April 27, the Secretary-General of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao, Ji Xianzheng received a delegation headed by the Vice-Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), Zhang Shaogang. The two parties exchanged views on strengthening inter-organizational collaboration, driving the utilization of Macao as a platform for Portuguese-speaking Countries (PSCs) to expand economic and trade ties with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, facilitating extensive exchanges on economic and trade activities and trade investment cooperation between PSCs and provinces and cities in mainland China, as well as Macao.
Secretary-General Ji Xianzheng welcomed the delegation of CCPIT led by the Vice-Chairman, Zhang Shaogang, and made an introduction to Forum Macao, the major tasks of the Permanent Secretariat, the Extraordinary Ministerial Meeting, as well as the commemorations of Forum Macao’s 20th Anniversary. Vice-Chairman Zhang introduced CCPIT’s preparatory work for the first Industrial and Commercial Development Conference of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. He also added that CCPIT will continue to support the organization of the China-Portuguese-speaking Countries Entrepreneur Meeting during the Forum Macao Ministerial Conference. In the future, CCPIT will organize economic and trade cooperation fairs in PSCs, as well as collaborate with trade promotion organizations from other countries to promote the establishment of the Chinese and Portuguese Entrepreneurs Union Association. Secretary-General Ji noted that Forum Macao had signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the CCPIT. Over the years, they had jointly organized a number of successful trade and investment promotion activities with effective results in Macao and PSCs. He expressed that the Permanent Secretariat is willing to continuously consolidate and develop the favorable cooperation relations established between the two parties, and make full use of Macao as a platform for the joint promotion of implementing the Action Plan for Economic and Trade Co-operation formulated at the Ministerial Conference of the Forum Macao, and to make new contributions to the economic and trade relations between China and PSCs.
