A delegation of the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao), led by Secretary-General Ji Xianzheng, visited the Greater Bay Area from April 13 to 17 to take part in the 133rd China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair), and visited Dongguan, Guangzhou and Shenzhen.
The delegation of Forum Macao attended the opening ceremony of the 133rd China Import and Export Fair and the 2nd Pearl River International Trade Forum in Guangzhou. Members of the delegation visited the exhibition hall extensively and engaged in matching and meeting with exhibitors to actively promote Sino-Lusophone cooperation. The Canton Fair is a window of China’s opening up to the world and also serves as an important platform for foreign trade. This year, the Canton Fair has fully resumed its offline exhibition. Meanwhile, the fourth phase of the exhibition has been introduced for the first time to inject new themes. The exhibition area is expanded to 1.5 million square meters this year, with the “Import Zone” available in all three phases. The hybrid mode of online and offline events provides more opportunities for national/regional enterprises to tap into the Chinese and global markets.
During their visit to the Greater Bay Area, the delegation had meetings with the Administrative Committee of the Guangzhou Development District and the Commerce Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality, and visited Fapon Biotech, CHAM Battery, the Museum Exhibition of Huangpu Development and Guangzhou Development District, Macau Youth Innovation Tribe, Guangzhou Shiyuan Electronic Technology Co., Ltd., as well as Tencent Research Institute to further drive cooperation between the governments and enterprises in the Greater Bay Area and Portuguese-speaking Countries in various fields by leveraging their respective strengths.
