African Portuguese-speaking countries pleased with results of China-Africa Forum

The curtain fell on the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) in Beijing on September 6. Attendees included the prime ministers of Cape Verde, São Tomé and Príncipe, Guinea, and Mozambique, as well as the head of Angola's diplomatic mission.


Angola and China signed three memoranda of understanding in the area of transport, one of which was to prepare studies to speed up the construction project for the Luanda light rail system.


Cape Verde will receive a Chinese donation estimated at 25.6 million euros.


The Guinean president gave a speech in Beijing on the "Industrialisation of Agriculture", emphasising the importance of respecting the fight against climate change.


São Tomé and Príncipe was already banking on this forum to sign agreements covering infrastructure and road rehabilitation.


The head of Mozambique said that the visit to China strengthens friendly relations, mobilizes more resources for the development of our country and highlights the interest and desire to cooperate towards modernization.
