Cooperation in the audiovisual field between Brazil and China was discussed on June 9 in a meeting with the deputy chief executive of the China Film Administration, Mao Yu, during a mission by the Executive Secretary of the MinC, Márcio Tavares, to China.

“This is a promising partnership in the audiovisual sector, which demonstrates the potential for cultural and economic exchange between Brazil and China, strengthening ties between the two countries," advises Márcio Tavares.

According to Mao Yu, cooperation can advance from now on based on three main axes: implementation of co-production agreements, intensification of the participation of filmmakers and distributors in film festivals and markets in each country, and cooperation between festivals.

During the meeting, China also expressed interest in sending a delegation to participate in Chinese film screenings and initiatives during the G20 Leaders' Summit in Rio de Janeiro in November this year.
