Blue Marine Telecom has completed the installation of DWDM optical equipment on 12 of the 13 production platforms that are part of Petrobras' underwater fiber optic network in the Santos basin.

The solution provider is the Chinese technology giant Huawei, explained Fernando Brasil, business development director at Blue Marine Telecom.

According to the statement, from January onwards, DWDM equipment will be connected to the optical umbilicals that connect each Petrobras unit to the main fiber network.

When completed, the entire network will connect oil and gas production units in the pre-salt region to two onshore stations, one in Rio de Janeiro and the other in Santos.
