Businessmen from Mato Grosso, Brazil, go to China to expand wood exports

With a focus on promoting and expanding business, entrepreneurs from the forest-based sector in Mato Grosso will participate on the 21st and 22nd of November at the 2023 Global Legal & Sustainable Timber Forum, in Macau, China. The president of the Center for Wood Producing and Exporting Industries of Mato Grosso (Cipem), Ednei Blasius, leads the business delegation.


Before leaving for the Asian country, Blasius participated in a meeting with the team from the Ministry of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services (Mdic) and  highlighted the process of sustainable production of tracked wood through forest management. He presented a catalog of 13 Mato Grosso industries capable of exporting forestry products in compliance with standards and legislation and with the potential to meet China's consumer needs.


Blasius also met with the Minister and Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Brazil, Shao Yingjun to present and discuss partnership proposals aimed at the commercial promotion of wood from Mato Grosso.
