Two Chinese companies, online retailer AliExpress and logistics company Cainiao Network, have formed a partnership to halve the time it takes to send goods to Brazil from China, O Globo reports.
The Brazilian newspaper quotes a written statement jointly issued by the partners as saying their new AliExpress Premium Shipping service will reduce to 28 days, at most, the interval between the goods being paid for and their being delivered, and reduce by up to 59 percent the cost of sending them.
The report says the Brazilian retail market, worth about US$1.1 trillion a year, is important to AliExpress because e-commerce there is growing strongly.
It says the goods Brazilians buy online from China tend mainly to be mobile phone accessories, watches, consumer electronics and toys.
Chinese e-commerce company Alibaba Group Holdings Ltd owns both AliExpress and Cainiao Network, O Globo says.
