University of Cabo Verde Rector Judite Nascimento has said her university is considering offering jointly with the Confucius Institute a programme leading to a bachelor’s degree in Chinese studies, Inforpress reports.

The Cabo Verde state-run news agency quotes Ms Nascimento as saying the university and the institute are collaborating on offering University of Cabo Verde students an optional course on the Chinese language.

Ms Nascimento said the University of Cabo Verde branch of the Confucius Institute was also getting ready to offer all comers an introductory course on ordinary Chinese and a course on business Chinese.

The rector was speaking on the sidelines of the Cabo Verde heat of a competition among students of Chinese language and culture around the world, Inforpress says.
