Trade between China, Portuguese-speaking Countries tops US$98 bln in 2015

Trade in merchandise between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries reached US$98.475 billion in the period from January to December 2015. It represented a 25.73 percent decline year-on-year, according to data from China Customs.


Portuguese-speaking Countries sold goods worth US$62.306 billion to China in full-year 2015 – a drop of 27.92 percent year-on-year. The value of China’s merchandise exports to those countries reached US$36.169 billion in the same period, down 21.62 percent year-on-year, according to Chinese official data.


The total value of merchandise traded in December between the parties topped US$7.573 billion, up by 12.66 percent from the previous month.


The value of China’s merchandise imports from Portuguese-speaking Countries reached US$4.803 billion, an increase of 7.85 percent month-to-month, according to Chinese official data. China sold goods to those countries worth US$2.770 billion in December, up by 22.12 percent compared with November.
