Chinese authorities participate in meeting with poultry and pig farming in Brazil

On the 2nd of August, the president of the Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA), Ricardo Santin, received the vice president of the China Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Association (CIQA), Wang Zhiyong, and the secretary of association, Duan Xiaohong, along with representatives of animal protein importing organizations from the Asian country. The meeting took place at the entity's headquarters in São Paulo.


In his presentation, the president of ABPA reinforced the strict controls adopted by Brazil, the reinforcement of biosafety protocols and the broad monitoring action in the face of cases of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza in wild birds.


"We emphasize our position as partners in helping to ensure food security for the Chinese population. We want to expand trade relations with China, which is the most relevant market for animal protein in Brazil," says Ricardo Santin.


Besides authorities from Brazil and China, the meeting brought together representatives of agro-industries exporting poultry and pork to the Chinese market.
