Tourism Officials from Portuguese-speaking Countries came to Macao for training and exchange

Co-organized by the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao and the Macao Government Tourism Office, the Exchange Program for Tourism Officials from Portuguese-speaking Countries 2023 was held from June 29 to July 11. The Programme enables the participants to learn more about the management and development of tourism industry in Macao, aiming to enhance exchanges within the sector, promote cooperation in tourism, as well as improve the quality of tourism services in the participating countries.


Seven officials from the tourism sector in Angola, Brazil, Cabo Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, Portugal and São Tomé and Príncipe participated in the two-week training and exchange programme in Macao. The Deputy Secretary-General of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao, Paulo Jorge Rodrigues do Espírito Santo, presented an overview of the Forum Macao to officials studying at the programme. Moreover, the participants attended different thematic workshops and also participated in the Macao International Travel (Industry) Expo held last month, where they got the opportunity to promote tourism projects in their countries at the Promotion Session for Tourism Products of Portuguese-Speaking Countries.


The participants all acknowledged that this Programme had deepened the knowledge and understanding of tourism professionals from Portuguese-speaking Countries regarding Macao tourism growth, and through the exchange of experiences, more opportunities and broader prospects for cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries in tourism industry would be created.
