Wuling models are already being tested in Brazil. According to information on the Autos Segredos website, the models will be sold in Brazil as Wuling, since the automaker is part of a joint venture with SAIC and GM in China.
The brand will initially have two SUVs available on the Brazilian market. The Yep Plus will be smaller and electric only, while the Starlight S will be medium-sized and have electric or hybrid engines.
GM's idea with the Chinese brand is to have more affordable electric models in Brazil, since the automaker currently only offers more expensive vehicles, such as the Blazer EV and Equinox EV SUVs, so as to increase the group's competitiveness in the Brazilian market.
