The State of Mato Grosso formalized, on the 14th of December, an agreement with the Chinese Province of Hainan aiming to boost exchange and cooperation between the Free Trade Zones (ports and ZPE) of both parties as part of a joint effort to promote high-quality development.
The memorandum of understanding was signed by the Secretary of State for Economic Development (Sedec), César Miranda, and the director of the Foreign Affairs Office of Hainan Province, People's Republic of China, Dai Zhen.
The main points of the memorandum include the commitment of the Government of Mato Grosso and Hainan Province to strengthen cooperation in the areas of air networks, storage logistics and others, as well as providing essential services for efficient and agile customs clearance, thus facilitating an orderly flow of goods, services, capital, talents and other elements.
“We are eager and happy to welcome businesspeople to start conversations about setting up companies in the ZPE. Based on this memorandum, we will build a partnership not only for the export of grains but also to industrialize the Mato Grosso harvest,” said a representative.
