The Mozambican state-owned oil and gas company, Empresa Nacional de Hidrocarbonetos EP (ENH), is seeking to borrow from export credit agencies run by governments abroad, and to invest the money in producing natural gas from the Rovuma Basin, Jornal Notícias reports.
The Mozambican newspaper quotes ENH chief Executive Omar Mithá as saying his company wishes to borrow the equivalent to 15 percent of the value of its stake in the consortia that will exploit the Rovuma Basin, without saying how much money that means.
ENH will repay the money once the gas begins flowing, Jornal Notícias quotes Mr Mithá as saying.
