Chinese President Xi Jinping and Brazilian President Michel Temer have met in China and agreed to expand the scope of the Sino-Brazilian strategic partnership, Xinhua reports.
The Chinese state-run news agency quotes Mr Xi as saying: “China and Brazil have forged a mature and solid relationship as the largest developing countries, respectively, in the Eastern and Western hemispheres, and leading emerging economies.”
The report quotes Mr Temer as saying his country gives priority to the partnership, and as describing China as a reliable friend of Brazil.
After their talks, Mr Temer and Mr Xi looked on as representatives of Brazil and China signed 14 agreements on co-operation in fields including industrial capacity, e-commerce, electricity, tourism, health and culture.
