Employment conditions in Mainland China have improved in the second quarter of this year, according to a survey by the China Institute for Employment Research at Renmin University of China.
The report, cited by the state-run news agency Government-owned news agency Xinhua, says the index measuring supply and demand for jobs rose to 2.26 points in the second quarter from 1.91 in the first. A reading above 1.0 point indicates that job supply outweighs demand.
The report attributed the rise to expansion of the economy and fewer job applicants in the market.
About 7.35 million new jobs were created in urban areas in the first half of this year, 180,000 more than a year earlier, Xinhua says.
