Angola’s government has awarded China Railway 20 Bureau Group Co., Ltd. a US$21.7-million contract to rehabilitate the streets of Moçâmedes, the capital of the southwestern province of Namibe, Lusa reports.

The Portuguese news agency quotes the government as saying the work is meant to improve the environment for doing business there.

The report says a Chinese financial institution will lend the money for the project.

China Railway is among the biggest Chinese construction companies operating in Angola.

The company will soon have to say which Angolan companies it will sub-contract part of the work to, Lusa says.
