Mainland China and Hong Kong were the biggest markets for Brazilian beef last month, according to figures provided by Brazilian Beef Exporters Association.
The China News Service reports that Hong Kong imported 19,000 tonnes last month, a 29-percent increase in month-on-month terms. About 14,000 tonnes of beef was exported to Mainland China last month, a 19 percent increase over April’s figure.
Brazil exported about 115,300 tonnes of beef last month, which represented a 27 percent growth in month-on-month volume and a 28 percent monthly increase in value to US$463 million.
