Cape Verde Minister of Health and Social Welfare Arlindo do Rosário will visit China next month for an international meeting on health, A Semana reports.

The Cape Verdean newspaper quotes Mr do Rosário as saying he will take the opportunity to boost Sino-Cape Verdean co-operation. “We have a very strong relationship with China,” he said. “We want to enhance that in other areas of co-operation.”

Eight Chinese doctors are due to arrive in Cape Verde next month to work at the Hospital Dr Agostinho Neto in the Cape Verde capital, Praia, under the terms of a Sino-Cape Verdean agreement.
