Macao and the eastern Chinese province of Jiangsu will jointly build a park in the Changzhou prefecture of Jiangsu which is intended in part to increase business between China and Portuguese-speaking countries, the Macao SAR Government has announced.
“The government hopes the park will provide further impetus for closer co-operation between Jiangsu and Macao, and will help advance Macao’s role as a commercial and trade co-operation service platform between China and the Portuguese-speaking countries, thus increasing the city’s contributions to national development,” a written statement issued by the government says.
The government says the park will be called the Jiangsu-Macao Cooperation Park.
The facility isthe outcome of an agreement signed by Macao Chief Executive Chui Sai On and Jiangsu Governor Shi Taifeng.
The park will be a place where Macao young entrepreneurs can set up businesses and where Macao and Jiangsu civil servants can interact and learn from each other, according to the official statement.
