Angola’s Minister of Geology and Mines, Francisco Queiroz, is in China this week, where is having meetings with several officials of foreign companies operating in the diamond sector, Angolan news agency Angop reports.
The minister’s schedule includes meetings with representatives of South Africa, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Nigeria, Brazil, China, Russia and the United States, to examine possible partnerships with Angolan companies or investments in the country.
Mr Queiroz travelled to China to attend the plenary meeting of the Kimberley Process, taking place on November 14. Angola will take on the rotating presidency of the organisation, replacing China.
The plenary meeting of the Kimberley Process is being held in Guangzhou and Mr Queiroz is leading a delegation of more than 60 people, according to Angop.
