The consumer price index of East Timor fell 1.7 percent year-on-year in April, the Ministry of Finance said on Wednesday.
Judged on a month-to-month basis, the index retreated 0.2 percent in April, according to official data quoted by Portuguese news agency Lusa.
Prices in the transportation sector suffered the largest fall, decreasing by 4.9 percent year-on-year in April, the report said. The prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages decreased year-on-year by 2.6 percent.
The cost of education saw the largest price hike in April, rising by 6 percent from previous year, said the Ministry.
