China is willing to fund renovation work for Guinea-Bissau’s parliament, said on Tuesday Wang Hua, the Chinese Ambassador to the African nation. He was quoted by online news portal Macauhub.
The media outlet further reported that the President of Guinea-Bissau’s People’s National Assembly, Cipriano Cassama, had informed Mr Wang – during a meeting in the Guinean capital, Bissau – that the parliament was facing difficulties in operating.
Those issues could be overcome with “the support of China, the country that funded and built that building,” Mr Hua was quoted as saying, following the meeting.
“There are no problems that cannot be solved,” added Mr Wang.
A delegation including representatives from five Guinea-Bissau political parties visited China between February 28 and March 9. The parties had been invited there by the Communist Party of China.
