China and Portugal on Monday sealed a memorandum of understanding for the protection of intellectual property and for the fight against transnational crime, Chinese state-run news agency Xinhua reported.
The document was signed in Beijing by Zhou Qiang, President of the Supreme People’s Court of China, and António Silva Henriques Gaspar, President of the Portuguese Supreme Court.
Mr Zhou was quoted saying he expected the higher courts of both nations would strengthen co-operation in terms of the training of magistrates, personnel exchanges and high-level visits.
Mr Gaspar also said both sides were determined to further their co-operation.
