The Chinese Embassy in Cape Verde has recently made a donation of 3.1 million escudos (US$31,577) to the Training Centre of the National Police in the archipelago, Cape Verdean newspaper A Semana reported on Monday.
The donation, used to purchase computer equipment, marks “a new milestone” in the bilateral co-operation between the Chinese Embassy and the training centre, the report said.
The two countries also reached consensus on a package of measures to strengthen law enforcement co-operation during a three-year period from 2017 to 2019; including bilateral training programmes on criminal investigation methods and anti-terrorism measures.
The package also foresees eventual redevelopment of the police training facilities, and an exchange programme between the police services of the two nations, the report said.
