On the 7th of April, the Governor of Bahia Jerônimo Rodrigues signed an agreement to expand the State Government’s technological partnership with Chinese company Huawei. The memorandum of understanding was signed in a ceremony held at the company’s headquarters in Shenzhen. According to the government, the agreement is the result of negotiations held in March in Salvador.

“This memorandum is a technical cooperation agreement. With the agreement, they will be able to use the space in our Technology Park to develop projects and train workforce. In addition, they can establish data centers in the state,” explained Governor Jerônimo Rodrigues.

The partnership between Bahia and Huawei began in 2009 with the construction of the Infovia da Bahia, which opened the doors to digital collaboration.
