On the 9th of April, the governor of Bahia, Jerônimo Rodrigues, visited two production lines of the Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer BYD. The first, in the city of Hangzhou, produces 100% electric buses, and the second, in the city of Chengzhou, produces passenger cars with the same technology. Together, the units manufacture more than 400,000 vehicles a year and employ more than 9,200 people.

“We’re working on Sunday this Easter, and today we start early with the visit to a BYD bus factory. We are going to fight to take this industry to Bahia”, said Jerônimo.

The delegation from Bahia is formed by the state secretaries of the Secretariat for Economic Development (SDE), Angelo Almeida, and Science, Technology and Innovation (Secti), André Joazeiro, in addition to the superintendent of SDE, Paulo Guimarães.
